Our take
Digits is an AI-native accounting platform for small and growing US businesses. It connects to your banks, cards and payroll providers, then categorizes and reconciles transactions around the clock, so your profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow stay current. Every plan also includes invoicing, bill pay, a conversational assistant called Ask Digits, and API and MCP access.
On October 13, 2026, Digits launched its Write MCP with Locked Periods. An AI agent such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can now recategorize transactions, write journal entries, create bills and invoices, and update the chart of accounts. Once a month is locked, any change goes into a review queue that an admin has to approve. Digits says the MCP is free.
Pricing comes from the official pricing page on 2026-10-20: Essentials at $65/mo, Core at $100/mo (adds department and location tracking and automated schedules), and Pro at $250/mo, which the page marks as “coming soon”. Digits offers a 30-day free trial, charges no setup fees, and says it currently serves only U.S.-based entities. The setup time and SMB score are editorial estimates that we haven’t confirmed with hands-on testing.
